There are loads of great things to do and see nearby whilst you stay. Listed below are our favourite things to do in the area.
We are on the trail on of The Wolds Way a 79 mile route that takes you through the tranquil and gentle chalk landscape of Yorkshire, celebrated amongst walkers and hikers.
The Yorkshire coast is just a 30 minute drive away, where you could enjoy fantastic fish and chips at Filey, visit the historic promenade and harbour at Bridlington, and walk along the award-winning North Bay beach at Scarborough.
We are lucky to be so close to the North York Moors a National Park thats brimming with natural beauty. You can explore by foot, or why not travel on the heritage steam train at Pickering.
Dalby Forest is also nearby, where you can go mountain biking, visit the sculpture park and do adventures activities such as Go Ape. The forest is on the southern slopes of the North York Moors.
The closest town is Malton ‘Yorkshire’s rural food capital’. Malton is a historic market town with several independent shops and cafes, perfect for sampling the best of Yorkshire.
Our closest city is the ancient Roman city of York, which boasts thirty world class museums, the best racecourse, and a thriving cultural scene. Our favourite things to do in York are exploring the shambles, York Minster and walking along the old town walls.
If you enjoy history as much as we do, you will enjoy looking round the country houses of Scampston Hall and Castle Howard, with their stunning gardens and architecture. Eden Camp Musueum is hidden treasure close to Malton, with a fascinating story to tell.
And finally a fun place to take the kids – Flamingo Land! A theme park and zoo with lots to keep the little ones entertained.
